Celebrating 30+ Years of the New York Tanzanian Community Fundraising Gala

Mama Africa: Swahili Women Rising, a luxury fundraising gala celebrating the strength, leadership, and growing impact of Swahili women in our community.

Details

Who: The New York Tanzanian community and supporters.


When: Friday, June 5, 2026.

Where: Fairfield County, Connecticut. (Private event, RSVP only.)

Why: June 5 is also World Environment Day, a reminder of our shared responsibility to care for our communities and the world around us. In many African communities, women play a central role in nurturing families, managing resources, and protecting the land, making this a meaningful time to recognize their leadership.

Purpose

To honor the legacy of our Tanzanian community, celebrate its people, and raise support to sustain and grow its impact for future generations.
